Kilwood Again…
Took another visit to Dorset Wildlife Trust’s Kilwood Nature Reserve on Sunday.
Pretty wet weather all day so only got a few shots off in the dry spell. (I took only 97 frames – 7 kept). I can normally shoot around 300ish in a good afternoon. I will probably only keep about 5-10%. Many of that number will be repeats or sequence shots taken in high speed burst mode to get focus sharp when using slow shutters / fine focus shots.
Anyhow onto the images I did get…
Firstly a stack of 2 F4 Shots of a Blue Butterfly. Stacked in Photoshop CS5. One shot had clear head focus the other bought in the wings.

Next probably a Common Blue (My ID is not too good but I’d stab at this via its markings). – Taken with Canon 50D with Canon 100mm Macro Lens. ISO 400 F3.5 1/100 in Natural Light

Probably a Common Blue
Thirdly a Green-veined White – Pieris napi – Taken with Canon 50D with Canon 100mm F2.8mm lens. F4 1/125 in Natural Light.

Lastly an (as yet) unidentified moth – I’ve posted to Natural History Museum to find out what. Canon 50D with Canon 100mm F2.8 USM Lens. ISO 400 1/60 F10 with flash from Canon MT-24ex twin flash.
Edit : Feedback from there suggests its an Angles Shades Moth Phlogophora meticulosa

Moth – awaiting ID
