Snowdrops 2015
Snowdrops – a reason for the first outdoor macro field trip of 2015. Garston Wood was my location of choice for the trip, as there is a small patch there and the reserve is normally quiet at this time of year.
I packed out the bag with my Canon 650D, Canon 100mm F2.8 USM Macro Lens & some coloured card and tripod to have a play about with different effects, having not tried this with snowdrops before.
The first few shots I took using natural backgrounds – this one being my favourite.
ISO 100 F3.5 1/100. Natural Light. Tripod.
Onto the coloured card images – firstly a simple shot of two, with a yellow card in the background.
ISO 100 F9 1/15. Natural Light. Tripod.
Then I found a larger patch, focused on the front, allowing the back ones to blur out. Here are the results.
ISO 100 F3.5 1/200. Natural Light. Tripod.
ISO 100 F2.8 1/250
ISO 100 F2.8 1/250
The next ones, have a Topaz Labs Black & White Effect 2 plugin effect applied to them.
ISO 100 F5.6 1/60
ISO 100 F2.8 1/200

A few beauties in this post. Love the white blur and the 2 b&w effects
Thanks Pete
