Fungi Foray in New Forest

I went today on a Fungi photo hunt in the New Forest.  I visited the Bolderwood area of the New Forest which has some old rotting wood, so always a good chance of some mushrooms to macro at this time of year.

I took with me my Canon 100mm F2.8 USM Macro Lens and my Canon 17-40mm USM L Lens to take the images on my Canon 50D camera.  I find these two the best lenses for fungi shots as one allows true macro (1:1) and backs off to a more “close-up type shot”, but sometimes the field of view is too narrow, so a wider more landscape type close up can be taken on the zoom lens.

I found several different types of fungi/mushrooms around ( I’m currently awaiting a field guide book to help me identify some of them, If you know what they are please let me know).
