Dragons at Kilwood & Norden.
Visited Killwood and Norden on Tuesday the 10th August on a day off, which was going to be in London until the riots affected the trip. However a trip to this DWT reserve & HPT (Norden) reserve was a good visit, with a co-operative keeled skimmer giving the chance to shoot it at various magnifications, right up to a in its face 2x magnification series of stacked shots. Before showing those shots, I will first show you some other wildlife shots that I took on the visit.
Firstly a fly – as yet unidentified taken at 1:1 magnification.

Next a grayling butterfly

Then this large hornet robber fly – this is a cropped shot as I could not manage to get a decent shot up close to it.

Now the keeled skimmer – first one shot of it posing on the heather, then a study in increasing magnification, from backed off on the 100mm all the way up to 2x magnification stacked images on the MPE-65mm.
