Alners Gorse
A trip to Alners Gorse at the end of June, saw the ground very wet following the heavy rain for the past months. Despite being dry the weather was cold, and the most numerous insect seemed to be horseflys (yuk!). There were a few butterflies about, mainly skippers of which I managed to capture one posing nicely on a thistle flower. The shot was processed with Topaz Adjust 5 to bring some more saturation and detail to the final image.

Finally I battled the wind to take this dog rose in a patch of sunlight.
