Bees, Butterfly & Flies Up Close
Over the Easter break I visited White Mill a few times to shoot with my Canon MPE-65mm Macro lens, mainly aiming to shoot Bees and Flies up close with my new diffusion setup. I had spotted several Solitary Bees on the previous visit and was hoping to get up close and personal with some of them. I did, but was also lucky enough to come across a resting male Peacock Butterfly, which allowed a couple of close up shots before fluttering off. In addition I also found another Thick-headed fly that was willing to pose and a hoverfly like fly (unidentified as yet) that posed long enough for a couple of handheld stack photographs to be taken. These were stacking in Photoshop CS5.

A wonderful set of macro shots, and the 1 stand out for me is the thick headed fly
