Flies
A very wet day at the beginning of July, looked likely to be a day where it would be difficult to get out and take any shots. I took a gamble on believing the weather forecast of a gap in the downpour about 4pm, and set off to White Mill. I was lucky and the rain eased up, so I set off down the river bank with my MPE-65mm macro lens, on the hunt for flies.
The following four shots are my best of the day, all showing signs of the bad weather…
Hover Fly in the Rain. Taken on Canon 50D with Canon MPE-65mm Macro Lens. ISO 400 F11 1/250. Flash lit from Canon MT-24ex Twin Macro Flash.
Robber Fly with Prey. (Slight Crop). Taken on Canon 50D with Canon MPE-65mm Macro Lens. ISO 400 F11 1/250. Flash lit from Canon MT-24ex Twin Macro Flash.
