Demoiselles in the Rain
The last May bank holiday Monday, produced typical bank holiday weather. Overcast and showery, and not as warm as the weekend. I went to another new location for me, Canford Magna river bank, in the hope of finding some white legged damselflies that were reported to be out there. The weather was not conducive to finding them however and they remained elusive. However, amongst the nettles / riverbank plants there were a few Banded Demoiselles about, often down low in the vegetation.
As mentioned the light on the day was bad, and also the weather had an affect on my paper diffusers! So there’s a bit more flash highlights in these than I would like. Here’s the best of the demoiselles and other insects that I found on the day.
