More Minutiae

More digging around under logs and leaves on Sunday – as the supposed warm weather failed to arrive – very cold and overcast in fact, so spring and flowers are not yet here.

So again armed with the important mat, and a new diffuser prototype, off to Garston Wood to see what was in the leaf litter.

First find was a Weevil that played dead – then after a couple of shots – revived itself as they a want to do, and wandered off.

Then what I assume is some kind of springtail ( if it is – new species for me to see).  This one looks hung or pulling some web.

The small one next to it then wandered up the mountain of a leaf.

A large more common springtail was found under a log.

And the final subject was a small pale millepede.
