Hot by the River

Another walk around Throop River Banks on a hot hot weekend.  Again the insects were all abuzz, but I managed to catch some while they lingered occasionally.

The first that I managed to get to pose was a Large Skipper, of which, I managed the following 2 shots.

Then a old and somewhat tatty male broad-Bodied Chaser was hanging around on some plants overlooking the river bank.  I took this shot to backlight the wings.  Final processing was added by Topaz Clarity.

Then what I think is a white-legged damselfly sat in the sun on a nettle leaf.

And finally this Small White, was nectaring on some pink river side flowers.

I've been taking macro photography from 2004. I use both Canon film and digital cameras.
