Hot by the River
Another walk around Throop River Banks on a hot hot weekend. Again the insects were all abuzz, but I managed to catch some while they lingered occasionally.
The first that I managed to get to pose was a Large Skipper, of which, I managed the following 2 shots.
Large Skipper. Taken on Canon 650D with Canon 100mm F2.8 USM Macro Lens. ISO 400 F7.1 1/200. Natural Light.
Large Skipper on Nettles. Taken on Canon 650D with Canon 100mm F2.8 USM Macro Lens. ISO 400 F8 1/160. Natural Light.
Then a old and somewhat tatty male broad-Bodied Chaser was hanging around on some plants overlooking the river bank. I took this shot to backlight the wings. Final processing was added by Topaz Clarity.

Then what I think is a white-legged damselfly sat in the sun on a nettle leaf.

And finally this Small White, was nectaring on some pink river side flowers.
