Assorted Bugs from Blashford
In addition to the Emperor and the Damselflies that I saw and photographed at Blashford Lakes, I also took some other bugs in the undergrowth. All these are taken on the Canon MPE-65mm lens, though the magnification vary. If not specified then the shot will be near to life-size in this assortment.
The first one is a mayfly – of a species I had not seen before – and I initially was hoping it was a mayfly mimic. It is much smaller than the usual mayflies that I have seen.

Ladybirds are fairly common – but also nice to shoot.

The smallest bug, that I took there was this Aphid.

I have yet to identify this bug taken on some nettles.

However a red ant is easier to name.
