Blashford September Selection
This set of macro photos were taken mid September at Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve. All the shots in this post were taken on Canon 650D with Canon MPE-65mm Macro Lens & flash lit from Canon MT-24ex Twin Flash. ISO 200 F11 1/200. Diffusers used – Cream Slice with Extra Vellum.
There were large numbers of leatherbugs about – and the first two pictures are of these bugs.
As well as these – I also found a sheildbug – these are a different insect family from the Leatherbugs.
Nearby I found a Ladybird hiding in a leaf.
And a nice fly sitting nearby too.
As I was leaving the reserve I spotted a Common Darter on a fence – and managed to get a shot of it head on before it shot off.
And finally also on said fence – a Common Froghopper.
