Damselfly Superstars

Getting up close to Damselflies, can really bring them to life – here’s another selection of the delicate little insect Superstars!

These are all taken on the Canon MPE-65mm at between 2 and 3 times magnification in the wild at Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve, nr Ringwood, UK.

The backgrounds are cards placed in the background, yellow, pink, blue and white.  With the silver being card with tin foil on it.

Flash lit with either the Canon MT-24ex Twin Flash or Canon 270ex.  All are single images with the exception of “Hiding”, “Cling on” and “Tears of Happiness” which are 2 image stacks.

Some more damselfly close ups and more on the technique that is used in this post.

Lastly some from afar – well not so close 🙂 , on the 100mm.
