Behold the Bees!
Bees are great subjects to take macro photos of, and to me it is always nice to see the first solitary bees out feeding in the flowers. This year I first saw them on the 17th April in some dandelion and daisy flowers. The weather was helpful being a little cool (which meant the bees were not hyper active, but also bright early enough to tempt them out and about.
I spent a pleasant afternoon out photographing a selection of bees, and kept lots of shots even after running through the non keepers etc. The pick of them I have posted as picture here, and also created a video with these and others that I liked.
These first two pictures are made up of two shots stacked together ( in Helicon Focus ). All the shots were taken on my Canon 760D with Canon MPE-65mm lens and Canon MT-24ex Flash. Diffusion used was as per this post. The pink and blue colours in the shots are from cards that I place a little in the background.
