Shots

Wood Anenomes

My first Spring flower shots of 2017 were taken on a nice bright Saturday afternoon towards the end of March.  I had taken a trip to High Wood, near Bradbury Rings and the Wood Anenomes there were out in flower.

I used my Canon 100mm Macro Lens with my 5D mkiV body.  I decided this time to shoot the flowers with the light shining through them from the sun, to illuminate them from behind.  I shot them at fairly wide apertures – some wide open, and in fact the highest “F”-number in these shots is F3.5.  I used Topaz Texture effects on some to colour them slightly in post production.

Here then are my first flower shots this year.

Hopefully this will be a good year for flowers and fauna.
