Early August
I have been a bit busy with work and other stuff, that I have not managed to find time until now to post these macro images that I took in Early August.
Firstly a trio of butterfly shots, taken at Blashford in the sun.

Then a trio of darter images from the heathland of Christchurch Common.

Then back at Blashford Lakes Nature reserve these Agelastica alni (Alder leaf beetles) were like a plague this year, with them appearing all over place. Only a few years ago this beetle was thought to be extinct in the Uk. Obviously not! The images here were taken after a summer rainfall.

And finally another type of beetle – a black coloured weevil. On a fence post.

All images taken on a Canon 5D mkIV. The butterflies and darters on a Canon 100mm F2.8 USM Macro Lens. The rest on a Canon MPE-65mm lens. Flash lighting from a Yongnuo twin flash – diffused.
